West Side Services is a local, family owned business based in Hood River, OR. We provide lighting installations for holidays, weddings, events, and outdoor spaces in the Columbia River Gorge, Portland, Vancouver, White Salmon, and Bend areas. Our strategy is simple: Be kind and honest to your customer. Show up and provide better service than expected. Do these things and the business will be successful.
Zack put this theory to work in 2012 in Carbondale, Colorado. This is where the first West Side business was created. Over eight years it grew exponentially and was eventually sold. It continues to operate successfully under new ownership in the Roaring Fork Valley today.
In 2021 Zack and his family moved back to his home state of Oregon to start a similar business endeavor, be closer to family, and to enjoy all that Hood River has to offer.
He has an interesting and eclectic history in work and play. Zack was a professional climber and mountain guide starting in the late 90s.

He has climbed on 6 different continents and has established cutting edge alpine and rock climbing routes in Alaska, Patagonia, and all over the Western States and Canada. To fund his pursuits he has worked as a high-angle rigger for numerous TV shows, film, and adventure races. Standouts include: The BBC, Primal Quest, The Oprah Show, The Discovery Channel and many more. He was cast as a "Marlboro Man" for a commercial and spent a month in a jungle setting up swings for a reality TV show called "American Tarzan"!

These days Zack is a passionate kitesurfer, paraglider pilot, and backcountry skier. He is also an active mountain guide on Mt. Hood. If you have ever considered climbing Mt. Hood he can help with that once your lighting project is complete!
His most important role is being a good husband and Dad to his wife, Tara and daughter, Hendrix. Your patronage with WSS helps support our little family - Thank You!
